FAQ

FAQ

Some answers and information are subject to change in the days leading up to Paradiso as our event details are finalized. We will keep you updated here and on our social media. If you have additional questions, please reach out to us on our contact page

When will tickets be released?
Tickets will go on sale January 10th. We will be selling them via a third party ticket vendor, Universe.com.
I bought a ticket, but now I can't make it to the event. What do I do?
Parties may transfer a ticket to a different individual long as the ticket recipient is in good standing with their local community. In order to transfer a ticket, the original buyer must fill out a ticket transfer form. The form must be filled out by May 17th at 11:59 pm. All of our official policies are listed on our Terms page.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Tickets will not be sold at the door. Visit our Tickets Page for detailed prices and additional information.
What is the difference between GA Tickets and VIP Tickets?
  • General Admission (GA) Ticketholders will get access to all events and features on the event schedule.
  • VIP benefits include early access to the Day One event space, a Goody Bag, premium seating for both event days, a special VIP After Party the evening after Day One, and the ability to vote for the Midwest Ouji-sama Pageant Winner. Only 21+ Attendees are allowed to buy VIP tickets.
What do I need to bring for check-in on the event day?
By purchasing a ticket, you will be added to our guest list. At check in we will simply look up your name. Bringing proof of purchase printed out or on your phone does help speed up the check-in process, but it is not necessary.
I bought multiple tickets for me and my friends. Do I need to give you their names?
As long as you, the original ticket buyer, and the rest of your group are all present together for check in, then giving us your group’s names is not necessary. IF you think that members of your group will arrive at different times and not check in all together, then giving us your party’s information ahead of time via our contact form would be prudent.
How long will the event days be?
  • Our Day One Event  will run from 12pm to 7pm, with VIPs able to check in at 11:30am.
  • Day Two runs from 12:30pm – 6pm.
  • These time-frames are tentative, and may slightly change. Additional programming lies outside these times. We will keep you up to date!
Will there be seating for the Fashion Show and Pageant?
Yes, all guests will have seating for Paradiso programming. VIP Ticketholders will be seated closer to the stage.
Paradiso has a dress code. How do I meet the dress code?
  • As this is a formal J-fashion event, attendees must wear some form of J-fashion (Including but not limited to: Lolita, Ouji, Aristocrat, Mori Kei, Fairy Kei, Decora, Visual Kei, Otome Kei, Gyaru, J-Punk, J-Goth, etc.) OR standard formal attire (the minimum would be a two-piece suit).
  • Cosplay/costumes/steampunk do not count and will not be allowed. To elaborate on steampunk, a J-Fashion outfit may have steampunk elements or themes (like Steampunk Lolita, for example), but steampunk by itself is not J-Fashion.
  • If a guest does not meet these standards, they will not be allowed into the event, and they will not receive a refund.
  • If you have any questions or concerns about our dress code, don’t hesitate to reach out to us on our contact page or social media.
Are there age limits on who can attend?
Our event isn’t suitable for children, so only those aged 13 and older will be permitted to attend. Only adults aged 21+ will be allowed to purchase VIP Tickets. Anyone under our age limit will be not be admitted and will not receive a refund.
What are the addresses for your event venues?
  • For Day One, Union Station’s Address is 30 West Pershing Road, Kansas City, MO 64108.
  • For Day Two, The Grand Hall is at 1330 Baltimore Ave, Kansas City, MO 64105.
  • Both locations are within minutes of each other in downtown Kansas City and are right by a plethora of hotels, restaurants, and other points of interest.
  • Is there event parking?
    • There are several parking garages right next to both event Venues.
    • Street parking is available but not guaranteed.
    • For Day One, we are working with Union Station to offer our attendees discounted parking vouchers for Union Station’s parking garage. More information will be available as this develops.
Can I bring any outside food or snacks for myself?
For our Day One event and Pre-Party, you are welcome to bring food and drink, however we do ask that you not bring your food near our vendor booths, out of respect for their merchandise and to avoid any spills! Day Two has a catered tea party, with Vegan and Gluten-Free options. Out of respect for our caterer we ask that you not bring in food or drink on Day Two. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions that you have concerns about, please reach out to us on our contact page.
Will food and drink be provided? Will there be any food for my dietary needs? (Vegan, Gluten Free, etc.)
    • For Day One, there will be light refreshments. There are several restaurants in the same building if you want something more substantial, and even more very close by all at various price points.
    • Day Two is a full tea party with sweets and savories.
    • Vegan and Gluten Free options are on this year’s menu.
    • If you have any allergies or other dietary needs, please reach out to us and we will see what we can do to accommodate you.
